Price and what the plan covers

Registered agent service in Indiana: $99/year. It renews automatically each year at $99 unless you turn off auto-renewal or cancel in your online account.

State fees are shown separately from our fee. We collect them with your order and pay them to the state at cost when we file.

What isn't included

• A virtual mailbox or mail forwarding. Everyday business mail is charged per piece to view, legal letters beyond the 3 a year are charged per piece, junk mail is discarded and packages are refused.
• Filing your annual report. That is a separate service with its own fee plus the state's fee.
• State filing fees of any kind.
• Forming the company, or any amendment or reinstatement filing.

Regarding paperwork and privacy: we accept legal service and state notices on your behalf, and you are welcome to list our Indiana address on filings to keep your home address off the record. We are built for legal mail, not everyday post. We scan service of process the same business day for free, charge $15 per item to scan anything else, and pass along postage at cost when an original must be mailed.

Indiana rules this covers

Every LLC, corporation, and limited partnership registered in Indiana must continuously maintain a registered agent and a registered office in the state. That rule comes from Indiana Code chapter 23-0.5-4, the registered agent chapter of Indiana's Uniform Business Organizations Code, and it applies from the day your formation paperwork is filed until the day your entity winds down.

Indiana's registered agent rules boil down to four things:

• A physical Indiana street address. The registered office has to be a real street address in the state. PO boxes don't qualify.
• Continuous coverage. The requirement is to maintain the agent and office continuously, so a lapse in coverage is itself a compliance problem, not just a paperwork gap.
• Business-hours availability. Someone has to be at the registered office during regular business hours to accept service of process.
• A filed statement when you switch. Changing agents is handled under section 23-0.5-4-6, and Indiana charges nothing for that filing.

How it works

Once you complete enrollment, we'll send confirmation of your registered agent service along with our physical Indiana address to use for your business filings.

New Business: Include our information as your registered agent when filing your formation documents with the Indiana Secretary of State through the INBiz portal.

Switching Agents: Indiana doesn't charge a fee to change your registered agent—it's free. Order the switch and we file the change through INBiz for you.

Most changes take effect within a few business days after the Indiana Secretary of State processes your filing. We'll be ready to start receiving documents as soon as your update is complete.

Already have an agent?

Change of registered agent to us: $0 our fee + $2 Indiana filing fee = $2. The registered agent service itself is $99/year.

1. Pick a new agent who qualifies. Indiana sets no residency or age rule for an individual agent, only a physical street address in the state (no PO boxes). A business can serve if it is registered to do so, but your LLC cannot be its own agent.
2. Fill out State Form 56367 or the INBiz online equivalent. You'll enter your entity's information plus the new agent's name and Indiana street address.
3. Submit the filing to the Secretary of State's Business Services Division. Online through INBiz is the quickest path; mailing the paper form works too. There's no state fee with either method.
4. Check your entity record. After the state processes the change, confirm your new registered agent appears on your public record before you call the switch complete.

Renewals, cancellation and refunds

Registered agent service renews automatically for another year on each renewal date, unless you turn off auto-renewal or cancel in your online account, or give written notice at least 30 days before the renewal date. Renewal reminders go out about 60 days ahead.

You can cancel at any time from your online account or by contacting support. Cancelling does not by itself remove us as registered agent on the state record; a change of registered agent or resignation filing does that.

Anything already filed with the government is not refundable. Registered agent fees are not refundable once we or our partner have been appointed with the state. State fees are not refundable once paid to the state.
